Less than a week to go and I have my tote packed ;-) except for the tools... I had to vacuum it as it is "someones" favourite spot in my craft room. It wasn't back in it's spot more than 30 seconds (I kid u not) and she was back on it again, soI threw her off while I got a towel and then back she went ;-)

if you want more details on the classes, you will find them here

Isn't she cute? The white is typewriter correction tape(?) and I got the idea from Kathy Wasilewski
I was a bit tired whe I posted this post last night, I forgot to mention the alcohol ink backgrounds and Stampinton stamp image. I just adore the colours of the alcohol inks - Thanks Timbo....

After recent reports in the newspaper and on television of the maltreatment of animals, I have felt compelled to write to my local MP and I urge anyone who has a love of animals to do the same:

Subject: Welfare of Zoo and Sanctuary Animals

Hi Jenny,

I hope, that like me, you have been appalled by the recent reports in the media about the maltreatment of animals at both the Melbourne Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary. While I realise the media like to make the most of the truth, I feel that this deserves further investigation.

I hope as my member of Parliament you do all in your power to see this happens. I was also appalled to hear that these organisations do not have to answer to anyone and there are no guidelines in place to ensure these animals are cared for properly.

Having these animals in captivity should be considered a privilege. I'm afraid I don't really agree with zoo's etc, but if we must have them, then the welfare of these animals must be paramount. And the sooner measures are put in place to ensure the welfare of ALL animals in captivity, the better.

I have never felt compelled to write to my MP before, but I feel outrage at these reports.

Yours sincerely

Greta Young

Well have just come home from a weekend away. Went to the country to see the newish home of a girl I work with. On the way up I stopped at a scrapbooking shop in the country. It never ceases to amaze me how they have different things to what I see in Melbourne! On Saturday morning I went for a drive to a "junk" shop and here are the goodies I bought. I just love the sepia music! And the little thin ruler - so cute and of course the measuring tape -as if I need another one!

I managed to clean some cobwebs out of the beast on the way home (It was a bit wet on the way up). Nice long country roads. He sits on the road so nicely. The old MR2 used to get a bit jumpy at highspeed ;-)
There has been a lot of rain in the area in the last few days and I was rather amused by the sign - almost under water ;-) The water you see is just lying on the side of the road....

At last my Little Book of words is finished.

It all started with a post on Diane's blog and Ness and I managed to talk her into hosting a swap on arty_oz.

Gail made me the covers for the book for Christmas - Thanks Gail, I would never have got the book finished otherwise (the atc's would have stayed in the sleeve) ! I was very lazy and chose heavy double sides paper for the pages :o)

Had a lovely day last weekend (kindly organised by Teresa) down at the antique shops in the Mornington area. Here are some of my buys... The fruit bowl (was sans fruit) supposedly French, ;-)

The valves (which I will share with Jen) will be taken to the Michael deMeng classes - information on these Melbourne classes can be found here and here. Can't wait!

Thank you so much Jenene for the tag and the hand painted atc - all I can say is WOW!!! And the rusty chicken wire - which is going straight in my MdeMeng class container ;-)

I may not have won anything on Tim's blog - but look at this!

King Neptune was kind to me today - I don't think I have ever seen a starfish in the water on "my" beach before ;-)

I have seen thousands of Jellyfish though - I have hardly ever been on he beach without jellyfish. The ones today were small, often there are some bigger than dinner plates ;-)

Although it wasn't all luck today, I got so carried away with my photos I stayed on the beach too long as it was getting quite hot by the time I left (about 8:45am). I ended up with a headache which turned into a migraine...

Here are some "changes" which didn't cut the mustard........
I went to the beach with 2 things in mind today - 1 to write the word change in the sand and photograph it for my blog, and 2 to take a photo of "local architecture" for a swap on arty_international. I wanted to show the beach in my atc and the architecture gave me a bit of a challenge - that was until I had a bright idea!... more later ;-)....

Rust - Isn't the colour of this sea sponge magnificent? And how about my other finds....

The rusty bottletop and the old rust nail and little piece of driftwood will go in my Mdemeng class container - which is a vivid lime shoe box with a yellow lid ;-)

Having visited Deb Lewis's blog and of course Tim's blog (who has a link from his word to Ali Edwards word....), I decided to jump on the band wagon too...

My word is.. Change.

1. To become different or undergo alteration .
2. To undergo transformation or transition
3. To go from one phase to another .
4. To make an exchange .

While life is always changing, I need to bring about some change in my life... change in body shape, which means change in diet (no more Tim Tams!), more exercise (well that wont be hard considering exercise = nil)

Change in job, one that doesn't involve driving an hour each way and gives me more "me" time.

A change to keep my craft room tidier and more organised - well I think that might be taking it a bit far ;-) I just need Jen to come down more often do I have to tidy it up!

Don't they look cool together. 2 down 2 to go....

My puzzle pieces are finished! The background isn't quite as bright as this in reality...

I think this has to be one of my favourite images as she is so easy to change colour in photoshop! She started out pink and I have changed her to aqua already ;-)

No photos today ... well not yet anyway..

I have had wonderful mail this week - an exciting Christmas package from my friend Kathy in the USA. Always generously filled with wonderful bits and pieces. Lots of bind-all bits for the bind-all that has hardly been out of it's box!

Swaps have been arriving...... A fantastic package from Linda in the USA with her puzzle and little houses swap and a load of other goodies for yours truly! My puzzles are nearly done. And I am so pleased with them - except they are a little warped (like me). I did put the paint on paper first before putting it on the puzzle pieces so not quite sure what has happened there!

As i don't have any photos today have a look here:

this is a pretty fishy tale

and then I found this story along with Michelle Wards new challenge which has made me think I need to start a visual journal. A good start would be the envelope Linda sent her swaps in, the stamped images and handwriting is beautiful! Thanks Linda

I found anothe blog today Karen Cole but I might have known that Jenny Crossley has been there before me!

and look at these little cuties!
